  • Musculoskeletal podiatry including biomechanical assessment and gait analysis
  • Foot care for patients with diabetes and pressure mat analysis to decrease ulceration risk
  • Nail treatment and surgery for ingrowing toenails and thickened nails
  • Custom-made orthotics
  • Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) for ankle, heel, knee and achilles pain, and other neuroma-related conditions.

Your foot problem is our problem

We’re used to dealing with painful or embarrassing skin and nail complaints and have years of experience – there’s not much Chris won’t have seen already! We understand how distressing it can be to have foot problems, so we work with you to diagnose and treat them. We operate to the highest clinical standards and use the most up-to-date and progressive equipment and tools.

How do we work?

We will need to ask you questions about your health, wellbeing, and medical history. We will ask you to fill in an on online form before your first appointment so Chris can get a full picture of any issues you may be dealing with. Some treatments and services will be completed with one appointment. Others may require a course of treatment or follow up appointments.

Either way, Chris will advise you on your options at each step of your journey with us.

Please get in touch for further information on how we can help you. If you don’t see the service you’re looking for here, please contact us – it’s impossible to list everything we do!

Swift Microwave Therapy For Veruccas And Warts

The most effective way to get rid of verrucas

There are many treatments available for getting rid of verrucas – but they are not all as safe, effective, or reliable as SWIFT microwave therapy. We only offer SWIFT as a treatment for verrucas and warts because we believe our patients should have the best possible outcomes. We have therefore chosen to offer the only method of verruca treatment we believe in.

Microwave therapy is unlike the other methods you’ll have heard about or tried. Cryotherapy, salicylic acid, silver nitrate, needling, laser treatment, creams, gels, duct tape – the list is endless. Many people will try various methods – sometimes multiple times – for removing verrucas. This often comes at significant financial cost and has little impact.

SWIFT microwave therapy is different in many ways.

What is SWIFT microwave therapy?

SWIFT microwave therapy is the next generation of verruca and wart removal. It’s:

  • Safe

  • Quick

  • Targeted

  • Highly effective

How does SWIFT microwave therapy work?

The treatment involves targeting the verruca with microwave energy via a handheld probe. It takes approximately five seconds to create enough heat in the verruca to activate an immune response. It’s this immune response that leads to the destruction of the infected cells.

One course of treatment (a minimum of three treatments at 2-6 week intervals) is often enough – although well-established, particularly stubborn verrucas may sometimes need more.

Musculoskeletal Podiatry & Biomechanics

Not just for elite athletes

Biomechanics can be used in sport to treat injuries, improve performance, and to reduce the risk of injury. It’s not just for elite athletes, though. Moving well is one of the keys to a healthy and active lifestyle. Using the principles of biomechanics and musculoskeletal podiatry (MSK) we can look at your movement patterns and foot pressures. If we can get to the bottom of why you are experiencing certain issues, we can create a bespoke programme for you.

Biomechanics can help with ankle, heel, and knee pain, lower-back issues, problems with your Achilles, and neuroma, a common non-cancerous growth or tumour in the foot.

Gait analysis

You don’t need to do any sport to benefit from gait analysis. However, if you run, cycle, or play sports – professionally or just for fun – it can be particularly useful. Gait analysis can help identify things like flat feet, high arches, or abnormalities in movement patterns which can contribute to pain or other problems with mobility. It can also help you perform better and reduce your risk of injury at the same time.

Once your gait has been analysed we may recommend treatment and/or orthotics – insoles or inserts to put in your shoes – or specific or customised footwear to counteract the problems identified.

We have extensive experience working with people with every level of activity, right up to professional football and cricket teams – and a track record in making a difference.

Orthotics

Custom-made orthotics will take account of your arch profile, foot shape, and movement patterns. They will be designed to have the impact you specifically need – unlike off-the-shelf versions.

Custom-designed orthotics will give you greater support and comfort leading to better overall wellbeing. They can help relieve pain, and by promoting proper alignment and decreasing pressure they can help improve efficiency and therefore performance. They can also prevent or resolve recurrent injuries.

We use mainly Phits cutting-edge technology for our orthotics – we may also use other 3D companies depending on the problem. Developed with years of scientific research, it utilises pressure plates and analysis software to create inserts. These are unique to you and leave nothing to guesswork or chance. The pressure mat enables us to fully identify and analyse pressure points, timing, and abnormalities in your gait.

The technology generates 3-D printed, truly custom-made orthotic insoles that are slim, lightweight, comfortable, and durable.

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT)

What is ESWT?

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy, or ESWT, as it is known, is a non-invasive medical treatment using high-energy sound waves. These shockwaves stimulate healing and reduce pain. ESWT is particularly useful for ankle, heel, and knee pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, calcaneal heel pain, neuroma – a common non-cancerous growth or tumour in the foot – and other issues.

How does ESWT work?

Shockwaves are generated outside the body using a special device. They are focused on the targeted area and will pass through the tissue, causing tiny disruptions. This process helps to stimulate healing, relieve pain, and reduce inflammation.

There are certain conditions that prevent the use of ESWT and we will always discuss the pros and cons with you before recommending it. ESWT can be used as a standalone treatment or in combination with others.
